Since I was close by (15 mins) and had a few minutes before dinner, I drove on down to an historic landmark. This is the original metal kazoo factory and only remaining of its kind; since 1916. Located in a quaint little town, typical NE row houses of all kinds, in an old metal fabrication building, this place has been restored into a fully functional factory, museum and store.
It is amazing to see all of the steps and process with different machines just to produce a simple musical device. Now, these are not your normal plastic types, these are true metal grade with different options in presentation from the normal submarine style to tractors, trains, planes, cars, etc. Not necessarily a place you would spend hours but for 15 mins, a great little stop right on Lake Erie. Just a great piece of Americana.
