As part of our mini-vacation, we wanted to stop somewhere on the way to Asheville; well, we picked a great spot. Chimney Rock is the poster child for NC and it is a great view. The drive to the little village and up the mountain reminds you of Chattanooga and LookOut Mountain; not good. I made the great decision for us to walk up to the chimney rather than ride the elevator; and well, let's just say that was fun; 30 minutes of straight up wooden stairs and rock steps; at 2280 feet above sea level; with several breaks on the way. Molly is still reminding me of that decision. A great place to visit. Notice my own photo of the chimney taken from the Opera Box.
